Hello everybody out there, My name is Adam. I originally made this blogger account to post comments on other people's blogs, but I thought I would try and create a music blog. In this blog, my goal will be to post an album, write a small review, and post a download link so others can listen to it.
So. Let's get started, shall we?
Fen is an atmospheric black metal band from Great Britain. When I first heard their EP "Ancient Sorrow" last year, I immediately fell in love with them. They play a very melancholic and atmospheric brand of black metal that is unlike anything I have ever heard. Their EP was fairly basic, but on this debut full-length, you will hear influence from a variety of genres. When I listen, I hear different elements from shoegaze and even from post-rock.
Like many atmospheric black metal bands, Fen purvey themes centered on nature and melancholy. I would highly recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of Agalloch, Alcest, or Ulver.
